I'm a lifetime Iowa City resident and University of Iowa alumnus ('75 BBA in Finance). Past and current affiliations include: Johnson Co. Planning and Zoning Commissioner, Visiting Nurses Association board chair, Johnson Co. Soil & Water Conservation District Commissioner, Johnson Co. P & Z Board of Adjustment, Englert Civic Theatre board, A.M. Rotary chapter president, Johnson Co. Compensation Commission, CareResources (home healthcare) board chair, Clear Creek Watershed board, Iowa Valley Resource Conservation and Development board. I'm also a DeGowin Blood Center Century Club donor (100+ units), multi-instrumentalist and singer in multiple groups.

Many of the columns reference LuAnn; she was my partner for over 40 years before she succumbed to liver disease in 2023.
